As the founding member of Mystic Taxi Rod offers stellar lead guitar work and fantastic vocals! In fact, close your eyes, and you'll take a fast ride back to the time of each smashing lick of all your favorite hits!
Rod uses Gibson and Fender Guitars along with a Digitech GNX2 Guitar Processor.
Rick Arrendale
Drums, and Percussion
Rick took an interest in drumming around the time Led Zeppelin was releasing their first album. As a latch key kid he would spend hours daily playing along with records from bands such as Grand Funk Railroad, Iron Butterfly & Black Sabbath. Rick has performed with area bands such as Walt Wise, The Sugar Daddies, Beyond Control, Retrosonics & others. He has travelled the eastern US & Canada in a band Mandrin Cypher for 3 years before starting a family. Beside a son Eric whom is serving in the Army, Rick resides with his wife Valerie & daughter Kiley in Cuyahoga Falls. While still being very involved at home, Rick has committed to helping the Mystic Taxi band kick things up a notch. Rick uses PDP drums by Drum Workshop, Zildjian cymbals, Roland electronics & Vic Firth sticks.

Mary Ellen is our wildest Taxi driver bringing a very powerful voice to our mix! She can cover it all from hard rock, pop, blues, and everything in between. When she drives the yellow cab, the sights and sounds experienced are amazing!! You will know what we mean when we say...........

Tom McConnell
Keyboards and Vocals
Formally trained on the organ and self-taught, Tom’s 25 + year musical career has taken him all over the country playing in variety and show bands, most notably with the “Jon Washington‘s Sounds of the Fortunes “,performing at show venues from Las Vegas and Reno, Nevada to the Gulf Coast, Upper Midwest and Atlantic coast .He’s also been with the nationally touring resort band "The Harrison Company” as well as with Northern Ohio groups “Nightschool” , ‘Sunset’ , ‘Storm’ and ‘Stone Cold’ .He also does solo performing and composing.
Jim Jose
Bass Guitar
Jim has had a wide and varied music career. Born and raised outside of Nashville, he has lived and played extensively in New England and has recently settled here in the Akron area with his wife Debbie. Jim has performed for such people as Kirstie Alley, Kelly Preston, Senator Olympia Snowe and Franco Harris, and has shared billing with notable musicians ranging from Johnny Mathis to Rick Derringer. Also of note are a handful of nationally-aired production and arranging credits, including Good Morning America and MTV. Jim is right at home with the fine crew of Mystic Taxi, and is ready to rock and roll this ride right into the Heights!
